International Conference on Creativity and Innovation at Grassroots (ICCIG’2012)

The Second International Conference on Creativity and Innovation at Grassroots (ICCIG’2012) commenced on Friday at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). The two-day conference focuses on the significance of the role of grassroots innovators in the process of development.
The speakers at the conference talked about India’s inclusion of Grassroots Innovations (GRI) as an inalienable part of its national innovation system which is being articulated by economies like China too. The system has undergone complete transformation with the use of knowledge and innovations of common people.
The goal of the subject was identified as taking stock of policy, institutional, and community-based processes which have helped or can help in creating an inclusive innovation system.
The speakers debated about different ways to harness the creative potential of masses. The forum also discussed how multi-media, multi-language technologies could be used to democratise access to sustainable technologies globally.
